Derek Lewis Invest In New JCB Plant From TC Harrison

Derek Lewis is pleased to be developing its partnership with leading high profile names in the sector such as JCB. The industry specialist, with more than 70 years’ experience of manufacturing equipment for construction.


Derek Lewis Limited is pleased to announce taking delivery of 4 new machines ranging in size to complement the existing excavator fleet.


8018CTS

The new mini excavator will provide greater reliability and durability which will result in increased service life. The excavator with its light weight construction of 1.8 tonne, in conjunction with its extending undercarriage offers greater mobility and makes its deployment to and use on site more efficient and safer. It’s primary use being with a breaker attachment for the preparation of surfacing works, thus reducing the need for hand held breakers and in turn eradicating operatives exposure to Hand Arm Vibration.

This compact 6 tonne excavator will add to the existing Derek Lewis fleet, with the aim of bringing difficult-to-access areas within reach. Whilst in operation the compact excavator will provide the operator with controlled and precise excavator functions. In addition, the 6 tonne excavator incorporates the very latest eco technology, producing fewer omissions to the environment whilst reducing fuel costs.


85Z-1

The 85Z-1 is the latest JCB tracked excavator, which is a result of 50 years’ experience within JCB manufacturing. JCB designed the 85Z-1 to be robust, strong and durable. The latest 8 tonne machine from JCB makes Derek Lewis a more cost effective and productive organisation. The use of its latest technology means that fuel consumption and omissions are reduced during operations.

The acquisition of the four state of the art pieces of equipment will ensure that Derek Lewis is able to continue to provide its clients with the highest quality product whilst improving the work environment of its highly skilled operatives. These high performance machines which incorporate the very latest ergonomics technology and design will enhance the working environment and reduce the risks of injury to our employees. This investment continues the move away from the use of hand held equipment thus further working towards to eradication of HAVS.
